Bran Castle in Bran, Romania, used to be a fort, turned castle and the royal residence of Queen Marie in the 1920s. Fascinating building with beautiful views, interesting architecture and fairy tale ambiance. For tourism purposes, it’s marketed as “Dracula Castle”, even though it has very little to do with anything related to the story (it’s a castle in Transylvania, close enough?). Another win for pop culture over reality 😿. Dracula or not, fascinating place nonetheless!
